What exactly is a cognitive agent runtime?+
A cognitive agent runtime is the execution environment that hosts, monitors, and manages AI agents. Think of it as the operating system for your agents — it handles scheduling, memory, health checks, and recovery so your agents can focus purely on their tasks.
Is ZAION truly open-source and free?+
Yes. The Community edition is MIT-licensed and completely free to self-host. We believe the core runtime should always be free and open. Team and Enterprise plans add collaboration and SLA features for organizations that need them.
Which platforms does ZAION support?+
ZAION runs natively on Termux (Android), Linux, macOS, and Windows. The same binary adapts to each environment. We test on Ubuntu, Debian, macOS 13+, and Windows 10/11.
How does self-healing work?+
ZAION continuously monitors agent health via a built-in watchdog. When an agent crashes or becomes unresponsive, the runtime automatically restarts it with its last known state, applies exponential backoff for repeated failures, and sends you an alert.
Can I migrate from another agent framework?+
Yes. ZAION provides adapters for LangChain, AutoGen, and CrewAI. You can import existing agents with minimal configuration changes. Our migration guide covers the most common patterns.
